For the past 24 years of my life I've been haunted in my nightmares about the Holocaust. The only justification I can provide in regard to this matter is in the relationship to some of my deceased relatives.
My grandfather was in the Army during World War 2, and I also had a Great Uncle who marched through some of the concentration camps in Paris (after liberation). Neither one ever spoke of their experiences directly to me, nor is anyone in my family Jewish.
I can clearly state that I have spent the majority of my life revolving around this event as a nightly occurrence in my dreams. While none of my dreams are repetitive--I am constantly cast as a player from this era of history. What type of statement can I make as a practicing artist which hasn't been said before?

I have been sent to the gas chambers multiple times, stood in front of a Nazi firing squad and died wearing the Star of David. I've been chased across open fields by the Nazi regime only to be met with a bullet in my back.
I have lived in the ghettos and escaped the deportation trains by hiding under the wooden planks on the floor.
I have spent countless years in my sleep as a prisoner at a concentration camp feeling the last breaths of my body cease due to hunger.
If there was ever an event in my life that has allowed me to question who I am, and whether or not I believe in reincarnation: The Holocaust is definitely it.

Did the Biblical God surive the Holocaust?
In the Book of Job--God never offers the afterlife as an answer to suffering.
There is no evidence to suggest that the Jews received any help from the Biblical God.
He did not intervene to save the bodies of those who perished from 1933-1945.
No miracles happened at the ghettos or deathcamps.

I was originally fascinated with the Civil War during my pre-teen years. I used to subscribe to the Civil War Historical Magazine and toyed with the idea of joining a Civil War Re-Enactment Society.
